As an RTL Design Engineer in the Spectacles Hardware IP team, you'll craft brain-inspired chips that power real-time AI for camera-first innovations, enabling natural, efficient interactions in AR environments. In this role, you'll micro-architect and implement cutting-edge AI IPs optimized for Spectacles, handling everything from RTL coding and synthesis to PPA tuning and debug. You'll develop robust flows for testing, analysis, and coverage closure, ensuring our designs launch flawlessly in next-gen AR glasses that redefine human expression. What You'll Do

  • Micro-architect, design, implement, and debug state-of-the-art AI IPs for Spectacles AR glasses
  • Execute full development cycle of IPs including RTL design, gate-level synthesis, and PPA optimization
  • Collaborate closely with architecture and verification teams to debug designs and ensure quality
  • Develop and maintain flows for regression tests, synthesis, linting, and power analysis
  • Analyze code coverage and provide feedback to verification team for closure
  • Work with R&D teams on neural network design, AI compilers, and Snap OS integration
  • Author clear, comprehensive documentation for IP designs and processes
  • Drive innovation in brain-inspired chips that enable real-time AI for camera and AR experiences
  • Contribute to pushing boundaries of wearable AR technology to enhance human connection
  • Support launches of next-generation Spectacles hardware powered by Snap OS

Minimum Qualifications

  • MSc degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in RTL hardware design and/or verification
  • Proficiency in RTL design languages including Verilog, SystemVerilog, and VHDL
  • Experience with all aspects of DfX including testability, MBIST+Repair, yield enhancement, test patterns, memory ECC, and debug infrastructure
  • Strong programming and scripting skills (2+ years in C, C++, Python)
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Proven experience in process development and documentation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing coverage results and achieving coverage closure
  • Background in designing CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, or neuromorphic compute
  • Knowledge of image signal processing, computer vision, or AR hardware components
  • Understanding of physical silicon design impacts on timing, area, and power
  • Working knowledge of machine learning, AI, and neural network optimization
  • Familiarity with software engineering tools like Git and requirement management practices
