You'll design and deploy cutting-edge IAM solutions tailored to Snap's cloud-native architecture on GCP or AWS, ensuring seamless access for teams building ephemeral messaging, AR Lenses, and Spectacles prototypes. Conduct thorough security reviews for new services, automate governance across microservices and Kubernetes clusters, and perform code reviews to maintain elite standards. As a security champion, you'll balance rigorous protections—like least privilege and data lifecycle safeguards—with the productivity needed for our 'move fast' ethos, protecting user data in real-time camera feeds and global-scale AR deployments. What You'll Do

  • Design and implement robust IAM security measures to protect Snap's data, infrastructure, and innovative camera/AR features
  • Conduct in-depth security reviews of new platforms, services, and AR experiences like Lens Studio and Spectacles
  • Build automation and tools to enhance security, governance, and data privacy across cloud environments
  • Perform code reviews to ensure exceptional code quality and security best practices
  • Champion security and user privacy within engineering teams building Snapchat's visual messaging and AR capabilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IAM into microservices and distributed systems
  • Develop and maintain security controls for containerized environments and Kubernetes clusters
  • Analyze and mitigate risks in identity management for global user bases reaching hundreds of millions
  • Balance security rigor with developer productivity to maintain Snap's fast-paced innovation culture
  • Contribute to tools that safeguard user data throughout its lifecycle in camera and AR applications
  • Stay ahead of emerging threats in cloud IAM, particularly for real-time communication platforms

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • Experience designing, securing, and deploying large-scale systems to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS
  • Strong understanding of identity and access management (IAM) principles and technologies
  • Experience with cloud security, including balancing least privilege with productivity
  • Hands-on experience implementing organization-wide security controls and guardrails
  • Proficiency in programming with skills in debugging, performance analysis, and test design

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with container and Kubernetes security principles
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS
  • Background in microservices architecture and distributed systems
  • Prior work in a fast-paced tech environment focused on consumer products
  • Familiarity with AR or camera-based technologies and their security implications

$157,000-$235,000 annually
