The Finance & Accounting team partners with leadership to provide insights, ensure financial health, and meet reporting obligations in this fast-paced, creative environment. We’re seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team in India, where you’ll help build foundational processes while supporting global US GAAP and local statutory reporting for our innovative AR and camera technologies. As a Senior Accountant, you’ll be one of the first hires shaping the India accounting team, collaborating with global partners to establish efficient business processes tailored to Snap’s dynamic operations. You’ll handle diverse areas like Leases, Fixed Assets, and Expense Accruals, preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting materials with meticulous detail. Driving SOX-compliant controls, risk identification, and process enhancements, you’ll ensure accuracy amid our rapid growth in AR innovation and creative culture. Cross-functional partnerships with P2P, O2C, payroll, and treasury teams will be key to compliant accounting for local regulations, while supporting external audits and filings. You’ll thrive by analyzing operations at a granular level to spot issues, designing new controls, and delivering actionable insights that fuel strategic decisions for Snapchat, Lens Studio, and Spectacles. With excellent communication, analytical prowess in Excel/VBA, and a proactive mindset, you’ll work closely with business partners on accounting research, judgments, and changes. What You'll Do

  • As one of the first hires for the accounting team in India, collaborate with the global team to build out business processes and specific accounting responsibilities in the region
  • Work on a wide array of accounting areas such as Leases, Fixed Assets, and Expense Accruals
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries and account reconciliations for assigned areas, ensuring high quality work product
  • Prepare materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Identify risks, drive process enhancements, implement controls, and maintain SOX-compliant documentation
  • Develop relationships with business partners to provide accounting support, research issues, and implement accounting changes
  • Prepare external financial statements in accordance with local regulatory requirements
  • Work with external auditors and manage the audit process in the local jurisdiction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (P2P, O2C, payroll, treasury) to ensure compliance and proper accounting treatment
  • Design and implement new processes and controls as needed for Snap's innovative camera and AR operations
  • Analyze company operations at a detailed level to identify accounting issues supporting Snapchat, Lens Studio, and Spectacles
  • Provide support for ad hoc analyses and projects to drive strategic decisions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent years of experience
  • 6+ years of experience as an accounting professional
  • CA/CPA License
  • Technical accounting knowledge with understanding of US GAAP and local GAAP
  • Understanding of local regulations and compliance requirements
  • Experience in delivering processes and reporting to meet regulatory needs
  • Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Big 4 firm experience
  • Fortune 500 and/or private company experience
  • Experience working in cloud finance systems (Oracle, Concur, Workday, etc.)
  • Experience in managing the delivery of local reporting requirements
  • Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls
