About the Role

We’re looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer (Level 4) to join our Spectacles team, where we're pioneering the future of augmented reality glasses. Our fifth-generation Spectacles, powered by Snap OS, blend standalone, see-through AR with Snapchat's creative ecosystem to make playing, learning, and working better together. As part of this team, you'll design and build features that leverage camera technology and AR innovation to bring people closer in the real world, enhancing how they express themselves, live in the moment, and connect creatively. In this role, you'll work across the Spectacles device, mobile app, and cloud stack to deliver immersive spatial computing experiences. Collaborating with Product, Design, and partners, you'll translate visionary requirements into robust, high-quality solutions that push AR boundaries. From optimizing UX for AR/VR wearables to integrating modern web technologies like TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js, your work will directly impact millions using Snapchat and Spectacles daily. What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and operate features across Spectacles device, mobile app, and cloud to enrich AR product experiences
• Fulfill Snap's vision of spatial computing through innovative full stack development
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and evaluate trade-offs
• Deliver high-quality solutions that push the boundaries of AR glasses technology
• Build seamless integrations between Spectacles hardware, Snapchat app, and cloud services
• Optimize user experiences for real-world AR interactions using camera-first innovations
• Test, debug, and maintain features to ensure reliability in consumer-facing AR environments
• Participate in incident response, hotfixes, and operational improvements for Spectacles ecosystem
• Leverage AR technologies to enhance how people express themselves and connect in the moment
• Contribute to the creative culture by prototyping new features for Spectacles powered by Snap OS

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience
• 3+ years of experience with consumer-facing software development
• 2+ years of experience in using TypeScript and Node.js to develop web frontend and backend
• Strong understanding of software development in web frontend and backend
• Experience evaluating, testing, and debugging work to ensure high quality
• Knowledge of operational aspects of systems, including incident investigation and resolution
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with building UX optimized for AR/VR devices
• Experience with modern web front-end technologies (e.g. Next.js, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui)
• Experience with SQL, NoSQL and vector databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Pinecone)
• Experience with payment service providers (e.g. Stripe, PayPal, Adyen)
