As a Staff Software Engineer, Post-Ad Click Experience (Level 6) in Engineering, you'll spearhead the next generation of our post-click platform, optimizing the native in-app browser to deliver seamless, high-performance experiences that boost advertiser ROI and user engagement with AR-rich content. This role offers a unique chance to bridge web development with Snapchat's camera-first ecosystem, profoundly impacting how millions interact with ads through innovative, performant browsing. You'll define the technical vision and roadmap for post-ad click experiences, leading the integration of our custom browser engine into iOS and Android apps. Drive optimizations in rendering, page loads, and resource use to ensure fluid delivery of AR lenses and creative web content. Architect scalable systems, develop intent-predicting algorithms, and build engaging browser features that capture user actions, all while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align with Snap's playful, innovative culture. Partnering closely with Product, Data Science, UX, and engineering, you'll mentor engineers, solve ambiguous challenges, and foster technical excellence. With your expertise in browser development, performance tuning, and large-scale systems, you'll elevate Snapchat's post-click journey, making every ad tap a gateway to immersive AR storytelling and deeper connections. What You'll Do

• Define the technical roadmap and vision for Snap's post-ad click experience, identifying key opportunities and challenges to boost user engagement
• Lead integration and optimization of custom browser engine into Snapchat's native iOS and Android apps, enhancing AR-powered ad experiences
• Drive dramatic improvements in in-app browser performance, focusing on page load times, rendering efficiency, and resource utilization for seamless camera-driven interactions
• Profile performance issues and optimize across browser engine and mobile stacks to support real-time AR content delivery
• Design and build innovative, performant in-app browser experiences that bridge ad clicks to user actions, leveraging Snapchat's creative AR tools
• Develop algorithms to predict user intent, drive traffic intelligently, and capture interactions for analytics in the context of visual messaging
• Architect scalable, reliable backend and frontend systems for post-click initiatives, including reusable components interfacing with Snap's platforms
• Partner with Product Managers, Data Scientists, UX Designers, and teams to translate requirements into solutions that empower AR creativity
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineers, fostering excellence in Snap's innovative culture
• Collaborate on improving native browser to empower web developers building AR-enhanced ads for Snapchat users

Minimum Qualifications

• 9+ years of professional software development experience, with significant focus on large-scale distributed systems, web technologies, and/or mobile application development
• Experience with web browser development, including building and deploying new features at scale in a browser engine or browser
• Deep expertise in performance optimization for web and/or mobile applications, particularly in browser rendering, network optimization, and resource management
• Experience developing, debugging, and shipping software products on large codebases spanning platforms and tools
• Experience with debugging performance and reliability issues on browser engines
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems design principles
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Ads domain expertise and strong interest in advertising technologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in technical leadership/ownership and setting technical direction for engineering projects
• Demonstrated ability to develop and apply sophisticated algorithms (e.g., machine learning, optimization) to solve real-world problems
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects in attribution and measurement
• Experience operating highly-available systems at significant scale
• Familiarity with ad tech ecosystem, user acquisition, or conversion optimization

Compensation

$229,000-$343,000 annually

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
