Profile and solve performance bottlenecks across stacks, architect engaging browser UIs that predict user intent via smart algorithms, and build scalable systems bridging ads to actions—like exploring Lenses or sharing Snaps. Partner with cross-functional teams including Product, Data Science, and UX to innovate at the intersection of ads, AR, and mobile. What You'll Do

  • Define the technical roadmap and vision for Snap's post-ad click experience, identifying key opportunities and challenges to boost user engagement
  • Lead integration and optimization of our custom browser engine into Snapchat's native iOS and Android apps
  • Drive dramatic improvements in rendering web pages and content within our in-app browser, targeting page load times, efficiency, and resource utilization
  • Profile performance issues and implement optimizations across the browser engine and mobile stacks
  • Design, architect, and build innovative, seamless application experiences for the in-app browser that enhance AR-driven ad interactions
  • Develop algorithms to intelligently route traffic, predict user intent, and capture interactions for analytics in our camera-first ecosystem
  • Lead scalable, reliable backend and frontend systems for post-click initiatives, including reusable components interfacing with Snap's platforms
  • Partner with Product Managers, Data Scientists, UX Designers, and teams to translate requirements into solutions that power AR and creative ads
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineers, fostering excellence in Snap's innovative culture

Minimum Qualifications

  • 9+ years of professional software development experience, with significant focus on large-scale distributed systems, web technologies, and/or mobile application development
  • Experience with web browser development, including building and deploying new features at scale in a browser engine or browser
  • Deep expertise in performance optimization for web and/or mobile applications, particularly in browser rendering, network optimization, and resource management
  • Experience developing, debugging, and shipping software products on large codebases spanning platforms and tools
  • Experience debugging performance and reliability issues on browser engines
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems design principles
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in technical leadership/ownership and setting technical direction for engineering projects
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and apply sophisticated algorithms (e.g., machine learning, optimization) to solve real-world problems
