About the Role

We're looking for a Technical Program Manager, Product Design Engineering to join our Spectacles team, home to world-class R&D pushing the boundaries of AR glasses. In this role, you'll drive the development of Next Generation Spectacles, overlaying computing on the real world through innovative camera and AR tech, while thriving in Snap's creative, fast-paced culture. You'll work within the Program Management Office and Spectacles Product Design Team, creating streamlined schedules for mechanical and electromechanical parts, managing BOM from concept to mass production, and collaborating cross-functionally to hit quality, cost, and timeline goals. Dive into technical challenges, rally partners for quick resolutions, and lead prototype builds and manufacturing trips—up to 25% international travel—to bring AR innovation to life. Key to success: deep knowledge of design and manufacturing processes, risk mitigation, and distilling insights for leadership. With a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 3+ years in consumer electronics program management, you'll help integrate electrical, mechanical, and software for groundbreaking eyewear. What You'll Do

  • Create and maintain streamlined development schedules for mechanical and electromechanical parts in Spectacles AR glasses, adapting to challenges in camera and AR innovation
  • Manage design release schedules, delivery of parts, and BOM from early concepts to mass production
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Design, Industrial Design, and Operations to meet quality, cost, and schedule goals
  • Understand technical issues in AR hardware and convene key partners to resolve them swiftly
  • Drive development and manufacturing of early prototypes for Next Generation Spectacles
  • Travel to manufacturing partners to diagnose and close production issues
  • Present key status updates on Spectacles projects to leadership
  • Identify risks in AR camera integration and mitigate them proactively
  • Prioritize parallel development paths to accelerate time-to-market for innovative eyewear
  • Ensure seamless integration of electrical, mechanical, and software components in AR glasses
  • Support the creative culture at Snap by fostering dynamic collaboration on boundary-pushing camera tech

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of combined experience in program management and mechanical/electrical engineering for complex consumer electronics products
  • Strong understanding of product design processes, manufacturing processes, DOE management, and tooling lead times
  • Experience with BOM management from early design concepts to mass production
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and operations teams
  • Knowledge of risk identification, mitigation, and prioritization of parallel development paths

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Product Design, Industrial Design, and Operations teams
  • Proven track record of interdisciplinary system integration of electrical, mechanical, and software components
