Our Spectacles team is at the forefront of this mission, developing next-generation AR glasses that overlay computing on the real world. As a Test Engineer, Camera and Sensing (Fixed Term) in the Spectacles department, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our hardware delivers flawless optical performance, enabling immersive augmented reality for millions of users. In this role, you'll define cutting-edge test and calibration methods for cameras and optical sensors, developing algorithms and specifying test station hardware to meet the demands of high-volume AR production. You'll collaborate with third-party vendors to drive manufacturing, support tester bring-up with partners, maintain documentation, and analyze GR&R data. Troubleshooting test stations, debugging software/firmware, and conducting failure analysis with design engineers will be key, alongside up to 15% international travel to support factory builds. Your work will directly impact the quality of Spectacles' computer vision, sensor fusion, and depth sensing capabilities. We're seeking a talented engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related field, and 3+ years testing cameras or optical sensors in consumer electronics. Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, data analysis tools like JMP, and quality standards like GR&R/SPC are essential.
