Job Description

About CrowdStrike

CrowdStrike stands as a global leader in cybersecurity, safeguarding the people, processes, and technologies powering modern organizations. Since 2011, our unwavering mission has been to stop breaches using the world's most advanced AI-native platform. We process nearly 3 trillion events daily across large-scale distributed systems, serving customers in every industry—from Fortune 500 giants to essential community protectors. The Falcon platform, our flagship endpoint protection solution, runs on millions of endpoints worldwide, detecting and preventing sophisticated threats in real-time across every major OS and architecture. At CrowdStrike, we foster a remote-first culture that emphasizes flexibility, autonomy, and a relentless focus on innovation, customer commitment, and team collaboration.

Role Overview

As a Software Development Engineer - Cross-Platform Infrastructure (Hybrid) in Redmond, Washington, you'll power the development infrastructure behind CrowdStrike's Falcon sensor—one of the most widely deployed security platforms globally. This role focuses on architecting build systems, deployment pipelines, and developer tools that enable sensor teams to ship production code faster and more reliably. You'll tackle challenges like cross-compiling for 10+ OS/architecture combinations in minutes, providing instant cross-platform feedback, and deploying updates to millions of endpoints with zero downtime. Primarily using Python with occasional C/C++, this position blends systems programming, developer productivity, and production infrastructure to eliminate friction at massive scale.

Hybrid Work Model

This hybrid role, based near our Redmond, WA office (Seattle area), expects about two days per week in-office to spark collaboration. Our remote-first culture ensures flexibility while building strong team connections.

Key Responsibilities

In this critical role, you'll drive platform evolution through hands-on engineering and collaboration:

  • Build production-grade platform systems powering cross-platform sensor development across Windows, Linux, and macOS.
  • Architect build and release infrastructure handling complex cross-compilation, dependency management, and hermetic builds at scale.
  • Design developer-facing APIs and tools that abstract platform complexity and boost feature velocity.
  • Engineer CI/CD systems delivering fast feedback loops for confident, frequent deployments.
  • Identify bottlenecks, prototype solutions, and ship improvements that measurably enhance developer productivity.
  • Collaborate with sensor teams to understand workflows and create high-leverage tools.

Qualifications & Requirements

To thrive, you'll bring proven expertise in high-scale systems:

  • 5+ years building production systems focused on platform engineering, developer tools, or systems programming.
  • Deep Python expertise—writing idiomatic, performant code with internals knowledge.
  • Cross-platform development experience navigating Windows, Linux, and macOS realities.
  • Systems thinking: mastery of build systems, compilers, linkers, and software build processes.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with distributed teams and translate needs into solutions.

Bonus Points

Stand out with C/C++ for system integration, build system expertise (Bazel, CMake), CI/CD architecture (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), proven productivity gains, or Rust experience. GenAI-assisted workflows are a plus.

Benefits & Perks

CrowdStrike offers unmatched rewards as a market leader:

  • Competitive salary $120,000–$180,000 USD (with upside potential) plus equity awards.
  • Comprehensive physical and mental wellness programs.
  • Generous vacation, holidays, paid parental, and adoption leaves.
  • Professional development for all levels.
  • Employee Networks, volunteer opportunities, and vibrant offices with world-class amenities.
  • Great Place to Work™ certified globally.

Career Growth

Own your career in a culture of autonomy and innovation. From prototyping to production, you'll gain visibility across engineering teams, honing skills in distributed systems, AI-driven security, and developer platforms. CrowdStrike invests in your growth through mentorship, training, and paths to senior roles, leadership, or specialized tracks in cybersecurity infrastructure.
