Key Responsibilities

• Observing, diagnosing, and quickly resolving production issues with precision to minimize service interruptions for millions of users.
• Developing and implementing real-time monitoring solutions using tools like Splunk, SignalFx, and New Relic to deliver insights into system health and key performance indicators.
• Communicating technical issues and their business impacts clearly to align teams and drive effective response strategies.
• Reporting high-value metrics and insights to leadership, showcasing how site reliability directly influences consumer experiences and business objectives.
• Managing IT service processes including Incident, Problem, Change, and Knowledge Management to uphold service quality.

Qualifications & Requirements

Nike seeks engineers who blend deep technical expertise with strong collaboration skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong design and development in Java; proficiency in JavaScript (React, Angular, Node.js).
• Hands-on experience with AWS, microservices, Docker, Serverless, and NoSQL databases like DynamoDB or Cassandra.
• Understanding of large-scale reliability concepts: multi-region/multi-cloud, canary deploys, synthetic testing, containers.
• Experience with observability tools (Splunk, SignalFx, New Relic, Catchpoint); bonus for open-source stacks, AI Ops/ML.
• Basic knowledge of DNS, Networking, Virtualization, Linux; expertise in RESTful APIs.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate issues, impacts, and metrics to leadership.
• Preferred: Experience with Scala, Python, Golang.
