About CrowdStrike

CrowdStrike stands as a global leader in cybersecurity, safeguarding people, processes, and technologies that power modern organizations. Since 2011, our unwavering mission has been to stop breaches using the world's most advanced AI-native platform, the Falcon platform. We process nearly 3 trillion events daily across large-scale distributed systems, serving customers in every industry who rely on us to keep businesses operational, communities secure, and lives progressing. Our remote-first culture empowers every CrowdStriker with flexibility and autonomy to own their careers, fostering innovation and a fanatical commitment to customers, community, and each other.

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer III in the Data Ingestion and Onboarding team for NG-SIEM (Next-Generation Security Information and Event Management), you'll join the GDI (Getting Data In) group handling petabyte-scale data ingestion. This hybrid role in New York, NY, requires on-site presence twice weekly once the development center is established. You'll tackle ingest pipelines, data enrichment, alerting, and real-time searches from over 100 first- and third-party sources across multiple regions. Collaborate with frontend engineers, UX designers, and product managers on autonomous projects from ideation to deployment, ensuring high-quality delivery through automated and manual testing.

Key Technologies and Scale

Work on globally available, multi-region systems processing millions of events per second at sub-second latencies. This position demands expertise in large-scale distributed systems, emphasizing high availability, reliability, performance, and cost optimizations.

Key Responsibilities

In this critical role, you'll drive the future of cybersecurity data handling at CrowdStrike:

  • Enable petabyte-scale data ingestion at millions of events per second with sub-second latencies.
  • Solve complex problems in distributed systems, focusing on high availability, reliability, performance, and cost optimizations.
  • Develop robust systems using Scala and Go to support multi-region, globally available production environments.
  • Lead and contribute to cross-team platform-level initiatives and projects.
  • Adhere to software development best practices, including code reviews, automated testing, agile methodologies, retrospectives, incremental improvements, and continuous deployment.
  • Troubleshoot critical production issues and participate in scoping, designing, and developing new features.
  • Continuously improve internal tools, processes, and communicate effectively with stakeholders while juggling multiple projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed, you'll need:

  • U.S. citizenship or Permanent Residency, working solely from U.S. soil.
  • MSc in Computer Science, IT Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Fluency in at least one JVM programming language, with preference for Scala or Go.
  • 4+ years of backend engineering experience.
  • A can-do attitude, thriving in collaborative teams, and readiness to take on responsibilities.

Bonus Points: Experience with commercial clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kafka, strong debugging skills, and hands-on work with large-scale distributed system architecture for scalability, availability, and optimization. This role requires periodic background and fingerprint checks per government customer requirements.

Benefits & Perks

CrowdStrike offers market-leading compensation from $120,000 to $198,000 USD annually, plus equity awards. Enjoy comprehensive physical and mental wellness programs, competitive vacation and holidays, paid parental and adoption leaves, and professional development for all levels. Build connections through Employee Networks, geographic groups, and volunteer opportunities in a vibrant, world-class office culture.
