Role Overview

As a Software Engineer III, ITC at Nike in Karnataka, India, you'll be part of a mission-critical team developing high-throughput, low-latency, fault-tolerant Paid Media solutions. Partner with globally distributed engineering, product, and program teams to ensure loosely coupled, independently scalable services. Report to the Engineering Manager and contribute to Nike's digital growth strategies using advanced data engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

Your role involves building the technical runway for mission-critical systems in the Paid Media space. Key duties include:

• Designing, testing, and maintaining data pipelines for advertising functionality.
• Collaborating with product managers and engineers to align on requirements and deliver high-quality software.
• Explaining designs to teammates for alignment and approval.
• Ensuring solutions use scalable, highly resilient cloud-native architecture on AWS.
• Implementing large datasets and complex data pipelines with Python, Java, Databricks, Hive, and Spark.
• Participating in peer design reviews and providing constructive feedback.
• Reviewing code from other developers to uphold best practices.
• Managing databases for efficient storage and retrieval.
• Writing unit, integration, and E2E tests using frameworks like Jest or Mocha.
• Optimizing performance across the full stack for high availability.
• Maintaining CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment.
• Engaging in Agile processes: sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Contributing to documentation and adapting content based on updates.

Qualifications & Requirements

We seek experienced professionals with:

• Minimum 4 years in data engineering with Python or Java, Databricks, Hive, Spark, EMR, and SQL.
• Strength in data modeling, ETL development, and data streaming.
• Knowledge of data management, storage principles, and large file transfers across networks.
• Experience in microservices, domain-driven design, RESTful APIs.
• Cloud expertise: AWS EC2, ECS, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, Kafka.
• CI/CD implementation and DevOps leadership.
• Work in collaborative, multi-discipline teams.
• Automated testing with E2E frameworks.
• Understanding of Scrum and Agile.
• Hands-on code reviews.
• Excellent communication for business and technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
