As a Software Engineer III - Workday Payroll at Nike, you'll be at the heart of our HR technology ecosystem. This senior role focuses on configuring, testing, and deploying Workday Payroll, Leaves, and Benefits solutions to meet dynamic business needs. Based in Beaverton, Oregon, with remote work options (excluding South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia), you'll drive technical deliverables on time while ensuring compliance and efficiency. With a salary range from $107,700 to $212,600 based on location and experience, this position offers premium compensation in the retail-tech sector.
Your work will directly support Nike's global workforce, handling payroll for thousands of employees across diverse markets. Leverage your Workday expertise to optimize processes, resolve issues, and innovate within SaaS environments.
In this critical role, you'll design, develop, and maintain payroll modules within Workday. Configure business processes, pay components, earnings, deductions, and tax setups while ensuring 100% compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Debug production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions. Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Compliance teams to translate requirements into technical reality. Create user guides, stay ahead of Workday releases, and identify efficiency opportunities. Maintain utmost confidentiality for all HR data.
Partner with leads, product managers, and cross-product engineers in an Agile framework to deliver on time. Your pragmatism and problem-solving will ensure seamless integrations and deployments.
We seek seasoned professionals with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Bring 7+ years in payroll, leaves, and benefits configuration, including 5+ years specifically in Workday Payroll. Strong knowledge of Workday architecture, EIB, Global Core Connectors, and Report Writer is essential. Experience with at least one full Workday implementation, Core HCM, and Advanced Compensation is preferred. Workday Payroll Pro Certification adds an edge. Excel in analytical thinking, Agile collaboration, and rapid tech adoption while upholding policy and confidentiality.
