Key Responsibilities

As an Engineering Manager, your focus is empowering your team to excel in meaningful work. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading a distributed team of software engineers in your region on Ubuntu Linux kernel aspects like hardware enablement and execution environments.
• Taking ownership of critical areas such as partnering with silicon/cloud vendors for optimized kernels, broad hardware compatibility, quality standards, security threat mitigation, and build/test/delivery automation.
• Engaging with Canonical teams, the open source community, and commercial partners to drive collaborative success.
• Providing technical leadership, challenging engineers to grow, shaping positive team culture, and guiding strategy and execution.

Qualifications & Requirements

Canonical seeks candidates with a strong technical foundation and leadership prowess:

• Significant programming experience in C; Python, Golang, or similar languages highly valued.
