Protection & Control Engineer is responsible for relay protection and control engineering activities, including basic design and check of detail design for high voltage substation and transmission projects. This position will offer the ability to directly apply candidate’s knowledge of protective relaying and controls systems in substation and transmission projects.

Your new role – challenging and future-oriented:

• Perform analysis and design of single line diagram.
• Develop concept of substation relaying & metering diagrams (i.e. A.C. schematic diagrams), and D.C. Schematic for basic design.
• Responsible to produce protection and control designs for LVAC, LVDC and UPS equipment associated with LTS.
• Responsible for the production C.T./V.T. and cable sizing calculations.
• Responsible for the production relay configurations and associated documentation.
• Production of Engineering and Test Specifications for new and existing solutions.
• Prepare specification & Bill of Material for Protection/Control/Metering/RTU/ Communication Panels
• Develop concept Diagram for substation control system and Communications interfaces including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs.
• Develop Protection and Control Panel layouts.
• Develop high level Cable Schedule for Substation.
• Perform Factory Acceptance Test for Protection and Control Panels.
• Perform reviews of work performed by others.
• Work closely with other engineering and design and project team members to coordinate overall design and requirements during execution and commissioning phases.
• Understand and also clarify customer requirements, driving those expectations into Siemens solutions.

We don’t need superheroes, just super minds:

• This position requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with background in Electrical Engineering.
• 3-6 years of experience with a focus on protection/control/communications design for substations.
• Experience in writing and providing support documentation for relay calculations.
• Knowledge on ANSI standards, IEC standards knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with various vendor protective relay equipment typically used in substation. protection, including SEL, Siemens, GE.
• Know-How in Configuration Tools for protection relays from different vendors (SEL,Siemens, Hitachi, GE, Schneider …) and control systems is preferable.
• Expertise with Ebase and Auto-CAD.
• Hands-on experience with the below shall be preferred: 
• DIGSI-4 & DIGSI-5 
• Relay Configuration tool of GE, ABB or equivalent. 
•  Must have Relevant experience in working with System Integrators
• Hands on experience and knowledge on working of different relays application.

• Critical thinking, reasoning and problem solving are an essential part of this position.
