Key Responsibilities at MongoDB

As a Solutions Architect at MongoDB, you'll wear many hats, from technical evangelist to strategic partner advisor. Here are your core responsibilities:

• Collaborate with advisory consulting partners to develop reference architectures, design patterns, and technical blueprints optimizing MongoDB usage.
• Confidently articulate the business value of MongoDB solutions while bridging to tangible technical benefits for diverse stakeholders.
• Partner with account teams to drive success across accounts, from agile startups to massive enterprise deployments.
• Support sales cycles through technical discovery, hands-on demos, proof-of-value exercises, presentations, sizing, and decision criteria documentation—often juggling multiple opportunities.
• Translate intricate technical concepts and patterns into clear business benefits for executives and management.
• Serve as a critical liaison, gathering real-world feedback from the field and relaying insights to the Product Management team.
• Drive demand generation by participating in industry trade shows and targeted account-based marketing events.
• Demonstrate resilience, sound judgment, and situational awareness in dynamic business challenges and group settings.
• Proactively mentor pre-sales team members, sharing best practices and fostering team growth.

Particularly with Partners:

• Build trusted relationships with technical partners, influencing decisions and showcasing MongoDB's ecosystem value.
• Drive partner demand within sales territories with urgency and strategic insight into partner business models.
• Lead Center of Excellence strategies, joint proposals, and solution architecture implementation in partner ecosystems.
• Anticipate partner objections, provide mentorship on IT operations, and map industry trends/competitive threats to local opportunities.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel as a MongoDB Solutions Architect, you need a blend of deep technical expertise, sales acumen, and communication prowess. Ideal candidates possess:

• 5+ years pre-sales experience with enterprise software and proven technical aptitude.
• Hands-on coding ability in modern scripting (Python, Node.js, SQL) or languages like C/C++, Java, C#.
• UI development proficiency: Semantic HTML, modern CSS, TypeScript, frameworks (Vue.js, React.js, Angular.js), and AI agents like Cursor, v0 for UI orchestration.
• Cloud deployment expertise with DevOps best practices, preferably AWS.
• Experience in database benchmarking, profiling, and performance tuning.
• 3+ years software development experience.
• Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Nice-to-haves include partner ecosystem experience and deep NoSQL/MongoDB knowledge.
