Description

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Cloud System Administrator to join our global infrastructure team. In this role, you will take ownership of critical components of our cloud and virtualization environments, contribute to architecture decisions, and lead implementation efforts for new infrastructure services.

As a senior contributor, you’ll collaborate with architects, engineers, and security teams to ensure our hybrid cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, VMware) remains scalable, secure, and efficient.

Duties and responsibilities

1. Administer and optimize cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and private cloud platforms (VMware).
2. Lead the technical implementation of infrastructure projects, including design, build, and automation.
3. Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
4. Implement monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning for cloud and virtualized systems.
5. Troubleshoot complex systems issues, analyze root causes, and deliver long-term solutions.
6. Collaborate with architecture and security teams on infrastructure governance and compliance.
7. Document system architectures, procedures, and best practices.

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior system administrators.

Qualifications

Key technical skills

Required

1. 7+ years of experience in systems administration, including 3–5 years working with cloud infrastructure.
2. Strong knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud networking concepts.
3. Experience with VMware Cloud Foundation/Aria Suite and managing virtualized environments.
4. Experience with managing Linux, Windows, Unix, Solaris and / or Oracle systems.
5. Very good scripting skills (e.g.: PowerShell, Python, Terraform).
6. Experience in system monitoring and performance tuning (e.g. Centreon).
7. Familiarity with identity, access management, and security in cloud environments.
8. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
9. Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Preferred:

1. Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS SysOps Admin, Azure Administrator, or similar).
2. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
3. Experienced with DevOps methodologies can be a plus.
4. Exposure to container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) can be a plus.
5. Database administration experience can be a plus.
