Position Summary:

This role is responsible for basic preventative, routine maintenance (i.e., changing oil, brakes, batteries, etc.) and repair of equipment

What You'll Do:

  • Meets with supervisor/lead to discuss work order priorities
  • Completes work following work safety procedures and the direction of team leadership
  • Utilizes maintenance systems to ensure timely and accurate documentation of maintenance and repair work performed
  • Maintains a safe working environment and ensures completed work areas are clean
  • May assist with parts ordering as needed
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed. 

What You'll Need:

  • High school or equivalent (GED) (Required)
  • Valid Driver’s License (required)
  • Basic Mechanic tools and toolbox (preferred)
  • Must be able to demonstrate and obtain SpartanNash certification for the safe driving of material handling equipment, tractors, and trailers (required)
  • Basic proficiency in the use of mechanical tools (required)
  • Previous mechanical experience with trailers (strongly preferred)

Able to demonstrate and obtain inspector certification for DOT and brake inspection (includes required training and progression

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

Must frequently sit, walk and stand, use hands to handle, grasp, and twist objects, tools, or controls, and use both feet for repetitive movements as in operating foot controls. Must frequently walk, talk, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, and reach with the hands and arms. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance as needed. While performing the duties of this position, employees are subject to a warehouse environment and may frequently be exposed to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Employees must be able to work weekends, holidays, days and night hours, and overtime as necessary and as assigned, and must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hours shift as assigned. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
