Role Overview

The Specification Management Senior Analyst role at PepsiCo's Hyderabad Business Services is pivotal in supporting global R&D teams. This position involves applying technical expertise to create, maintain, and manage clear, concise formula, ingredient, and packaging specifications. You'll collaborate with in-market teams, Global Business Services (GBS) employees, and external suppliers to ensure compliance with global standards. Depending on team needs, you'll mentor junior Spec Writer Analysts, drive process improvements, and uphold service level agreements (SLAs). Key Responsibilities

In this role, you'll play a central part in PepsiCo's specification lifecycle management. Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering system and process training to teams, becoming proficient in Spec Systems, IT applications, and global ways-of-working.
• Obtaining certification as a Spec Writer to the Global Ingredient Standard and identifying process improvements for R&D GBS leadership.
• Mentoring and reviewing work from junior Spec Writing Analysts, leveraging internal and external resources for new or updated specifications.
• Maintaining relationships with R&D teams, suppliers, and stakeholders like Product Development, Food Safety, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, and Procurement.
• Managing supplier questionnaires, alignments, material testing requests, and uploading specifications into systems like Product Vision and SAP.
• For packaging specs, conducting Individual Component Specification (ICS) reviews and ensuring timely approvals.
• Processing requests within SLAs, escalating critical issues to prevent supply disruptions, and maintaining legacy systems for compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates need a strong technical foundation and collaborative mindset. Required qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Food Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent. For packaging roles, a degree in Engineering or Packaging-related field.
• 2-5 years of professional experience in Food/Beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), with 1-2 years in Product Development or Specification Writing.
• Demonstrated leadership in engaging senior stakeholders or leading small teams, plus experience in teaching, training, or mentoring.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, rapid learning of new systems, and preference for technology implementation experience.
• Basic understanding of Food Safety, Microbiology, Regulatory Affairs; exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English, ability to work across time zones, and self-motivation to manage multiple priorities.
