Key Responsibilities at Rivian

• Define foundational hardware, software, and controls architecture for Rivian's AGV and AMR platforms to ensure scalability, flexibility, and commonality across manufacturing sites.
• Lead co-development of core systems with internal teams and external suppliers, setting technical requirements and validating performance for best-in-class solutions.
• Own the technical roadmap and lifecycle management of mobile robot platforms, driving decisions on components, interfaces, and upgrades.
• Conduct high-level trade-off analyses providing technical leadership for critical design decisions in AGV/AMR engineering.
• Serve as primary technical interface between Hardware Engineering, Software/Controls, and Manufacturing Operations to meet integration needs.
• Define and enforce functional safety architecture ensuring compliance with standards like ISO 3691-4 and ISO 13849.
• Establish common technical specifications, interface control documents, and validation plans for the entire AGV/AMR fleet.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging robotics technologies, trends, and competitors to drive platform innovations.
• Translate operational requirements into actionable technical specifications for EV manufacturing automation.

Qualifications & Requirements
