Role Overview

As a Sr. Backend Engineer - Auth in Bangalore, India, you'll join the cloud backend team within the Platform product group. This team owns authentication and authorization for both internal service-to-service communications and external user logins. Collaborating frequently with other product groups, you'll build services handling over 1 trillion decisions daily. Leverage your expertise in distributed technologies, API design, and high-performance code to create a platform scaling to millions of events per second and terabytes of data per day. Key Responsibilities

In this critical role, you'll lead backend engineering efforts from rapid prototypes to enterprise-scale applications integrated across CrowdStrike products. Build and extend cloud-based systems to detect targeted attacks and automate cyber threat intelligence at a global scale. Brainstorm and collaborate with cross-functional teams, championing the latest technologies to elevate the team's technical prowess. Mentor and be mentored on web, backend, and data storage technologies. Constantly re-evaluate products for improved architecture, knowledge models, user experience, performance, and stability. As a self-starter, take ownership of deliverables, embrace test-driven development, peer reviews, and continuous integration while contributing to the open-source community.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed, you need a degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems. With 11+ years of backend development, scaling systems through sharding, partitioning, and horizontal scaling should be second nature. Demonstrate deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability challenges, multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing. Excel as a team player in fast-paced, collaborative environments, delivering high-quality, unit-tested, code-reviewed software on time. Bonus for experience with Go, AWS, GCP, SpiceDB/OpenFGA/Zanzibar, Kafka, Elasticsearch, SAML, OAuth, SSO, OIDC, JWT, or cybersecurity fields, plus leading open-source projects.
