Key Responsibilities at Rivian

As a Sr. Battery Control Systems Engineer, you'll lead critical efforts in battery diagnostics and reliability:

• Develop deep expertise in controlled interactions between Battery Management System (BMS) and vehicle systems, mastering battery measurement and controls architecture.
• Lead diagnostic analyses to pinpoint root causes of HV Energy Storage System (ESS) failures at customer level using BMS and vehicle data.
• Support battery production and vehicle general assembly with end-of-line failure data analysis, including on-site travel for cross-functional issues.
• Partner with Field Reliability, Field Service, Failure Analysis, Battery Production, Plant Quality, and design teams for aligned mitigation actions.
• Develop and propose enhancements to BMS diagnostic strategies to minimize customer impact and streamline field service processes.
• Collaborate with HV battery platform team on new architectures like fusing, HV switchgear, electrical safety, and overcurrent protection, incorporating field lessons.
• Conduct rapid root cause identification in fast-paced settings, relying on engineering principles.
• Communicate complex technical findings via presentations to diverse stakeholders.
• Utilize tools like Jira for issue tracking and vehicle bus diagnostics.

Qualifications & Requirements
