Role Overview

Join the AI Detection and Response (AIDR) team as a Sr Engineer, Cloud Native (Auth) in Sunnyvale, California. This hybrid role requires 2-3 days per week on-site and focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and secure identity and access management solutions. You'll specialize in Authentication (AuthN) and Authorization (AuthZ) systems critical to the AIDR platform, handling immense traffic volumes reliably. Success means delivering robust services with modern protocols like OAuth 2.1, OIDC, and SCIM, while evolving Relationship-Based Access Control (ReBAC) for fine-grained access, including Non-Human Identities (NHI). Contribute to secure user experiences with MFA and frontend integrations, all within CrowdStrike's cutting-edge AI security ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you'll drive the core of AIDR's identity infrastructure:

• Design, build, and deploy cloud-native services for AuthN and AuthZ, emphasizing performance, reliability, and security.
• Implement and manage modern identity standards, including OAuth 2.1 and OpenID Connect (OIDC) flows.
• Develop user and group provisioning using the SCIM protocol for seamless synchronization.
• Engineer and iterate on ReBAC systems for precise control over platform resources and AI agents, including NHI security.
• Integrate frontend components for login interfaces, secure session management, and MFA.
• Engage in code reviews, design discussions, and operational support for identity services.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel, bring proven expertise:

• 10+ years as a Software Engineer, with significant cloud-native development experience.
• 4+ years designing highly available AuthN/AuthZ services.
• Hands-on mastery of OAuth 2.1, OIDC, and protocols like SAML; experience with SCIM provisioning.
• Proven implementation of access models like ReBAC, ABAC, or RBAC in microservices environments.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and languages like Go or Python.
• Frontend integration skills (React, Vue, Angular) for identity features and MFA.
• Exposure to IDPs like Auth0, Okta, MS Active Directory.

Bonus: Security company experience or AI security knowledge. Note: Periodic background and fingerprint checks required for government compliance.
