Role Overview

As a Sr. Engineer - Data & ML Platform (Hybrid) in Bangalore, India, you'll join the Data & ML Platform team within our core Data Platform group. This team harnesses immense data volumes—over 200 PB in our hyper-scale Data Lakehouse—for exploration, insights, model development, ML engineering, and activation. Handling batch and near real-time streams from threat telemetry, metadata, IT assets, and threat exposure, we power the Threat Analytics Platform for threat hunting and incident response. You'll build our ML Experimentation Platform from the ground up, collaborating with Data Platform Engineers, Data Scientists, and Threat Analysts to create scalable pipelines for data preparation, feature engineering, model training, and serving. Future initiatives include generative AI for modeling attack paths on IT assets, bridging model development to operational success in a production-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Design and Adoption

Help design, build, and drive adoption of a modern Data+ML platform that scales to thousands of users with self-service ML experimentation pipelines. Leverage cloud services like Kubernetes, blob storage, and queues in our cloud-first setup.

ML Pipeline Development

Modularize complex ML code into standardized, repeatable components. Establish patterns for model development, deployment, and monitoring using workflow orchestration tools like Airflow for efficient, scalable execution of data and ML pipelines.

Collaboration and Best Practices

Work closely with stakeholders across teams, reviewing code changes from data scientists and championing software development best practices. Write Python interfaces to simplify access to internal CrowdStrike tools for data scientists.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education and Experience

B.S. in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field with 10+ years related experience; M.S. with 8+ years; or Ph.D. with 6+ years. 3+ years developing and deploying ML solutions to production.

Technical Expertise

Familiarity with ML algorithms from an engineering view (supervised/unsupervised, labeled data usage). 3+ years with ML tools like Jupyter, MLFlow, Ray, Vertex AI. Experience building data platforms with Apache Spark, Flink (GCP preferred), Iceberg desirable. Proficiency in Kubernetes, Airflow, Terraform, FluxCD, Python (expert), Java/Scala. Expert CI/CD (GitHub Actions), containerization. Strong analytical skills, dynamic environment adaptability, exceptional communication for cross-team synthesis.
