RESUME AND JOB
CrowdStrike
CrowdStrike is a global leader in cybersecurity, protecting the people, processes, and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission has remained unwavering: stop breaches before they happen. We've redefined modern security with the world's most advanced AI-native platform, the Falcon platform, processing nearly 3 trillion events per day across large-scale distributed systems. Our customers span all industries, relying on CrowdStrike to keep businesses running, communities safe, and lives moving forward. As a mission-driven company, we foster a remote-first culture that empowers every CrowdStriker with flexibility and autonomy to own their careers.
The Sr. Engineer, SDET - AI Detection and Response (AIDR) role is a hybrid position based in Sunnyvale, California, requiring 2-3 days per week on-site. This is your chance to work closely with engineering teams to expand test coverage across unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end layers while modernizing test infrastructure. Combine deep technical expertise in test automation with strategic thinking about quality at scale. Build the testing foundation ensuring reliability and performance as we deploy AI security controls across browser extensions, API gateways, cloud platforms, and agentic systems. Success means delivering contract testing excellence, expanding coverage, boosting team velocity, and establishing AI quality frameworks with measurable LLM accuracy metrics.
Onboard rapidly and contribute within the first 60 days to our fast-paced environment. Scale contract testing across services and APIs, improve test coverage baselines, and develop efficacy testing for LLM models.
In this role, you'll drive quality at scale for CrowdStrike's cutting-edge AI detection capabilities. Design and implement contract testing frameworks to verify API contracts between system components using REST, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers. Contribute comprehensive test strategies spanning unit, integration, and contract testing layers. Establish testing patterns and best practices for AI-powered detection and model efficacy. Develop end-to-end test scenarios covering multi-collector deployments and policy enforcement workflows. Implement quality telemetry through observability, creating metrics dashboards and alerting. Collaborate with SRE and developers to build playbooks and support documentation.
To thrive, bring 10+ years of combined software development and test automation experience, with a proven track record establishing quality frameworks for enterprise-grade cloud SaaS products at scale. Demonstrate strong computer science fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems. Expertise in programming languages like Python, Go, and Javascript is essential. Deep understanding of cloud architectures, microservices, web services (REST, gRPC), data storage (PostgreSQL, Redis), container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines in AWS/Azure/GCP environments. Strong debugging skills for complex distributed systems, plus experience with cloud performance testing tools like JMeter, Gatling, New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana. Familiarity with performance/scale testing, efficacy testing, and test data generation (synthetic or AI-generated) is required. Exposure to LLMs is a plus.
Stand out with experience testing AI/ML systems, LLM applications, prompt engineering security, or performance testing large-scale SaaS products. Familiarity with ML lifecycle, model training/evaluation/deployment, AI efficacy/adversarial testing, browser extension frameworks, API gateways (Kong, Envoy), Model Context Protocol (MCP), or agentic AI systems. Experience scaling test infrastructure for hundreds of engineers accelerates impact.
CrowdStrike offers market-leading compensation with equity awards, estimated at $147,000 - $236,500 USD per year for this role. Enjoy comprehensive physical and mental wellness programs, competitive vacation and holidays for recharge, paid parental and adoption leaves. Access professional development opportunities regardless of level or role. Build connections through Employee Networks, geographic neighborhood groups, and volunteer opportunities. Our remote-first culture supports flexibility while hybrid collaboration drives innovation.
At CrowdStrike, career ownership is core to our culture. Rapidly advance by contributing to high-impact projects in AI detection and response. Work with limitless passion, relentless innovation focus, and fanatical customer commitment. Professional development programs, mentorship, and cross-team exposure position you for leadership in cybersecurity testing and AI quality engineering.
Join a mission that matters: stopping breaches with the Falcon platform's AI-native power. Be part of a team redefining cybersecurity amid growing threats.
