Key Responsibilities at Rivian

In this role, you'll drive wireless excellence across Rivian's operations. Key responsibilities include:

• Design and deploy enterprise wireless infrastructure, including high-density Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 deployments and outdoor solutions.
• Lead RF planning with predictive designs, site surveys, heat maps, and spectrum analysis using tools like Ekahau and Hamina.
• Configure and troubleshoot wireless controllers, access points, 802.1X RADIUS authentication, and security policies.
• Perform root cause analysis for wireless performance, reliability, and availability issues using Wireshark and spectrum analyzers.
• Implement standards for new sites, expansions, and retrofits across office campuses and commercial locations.
• Support end-to-end networking including switching, routing, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Contribute to automation initiatives with Python scripting, Ansible, and APIs for monitoring and efficiency.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Security, Facilities, and Workplace teams to meet business and user experience needs.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in on-call rotation for business-critical support.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed as a Sr. IT Wireless Network Engineer at Rivian, you need:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 5+ years in wireless and enterprise network engineering.
• Deep Wi-Fi expertise: 802.11 protocols (a/b/g/n/ac/ax), RF fundamentals, capacity planning, QoS.
• Hands-on with platforms like Cisco, Juniper Mist, Aruba for controllers and access points.
• Networking foundation: TCP/IP, switching, routing, 802.1X, RADIUS, SNMP, segmentation.
• Advanced troubleshooting with Ekahau, Wireshark, spectrum analyzers.

Preferred: CWNA/CWSP/CWDP/CCNP certifications, automation experience (Python, Ansible), NAC/security knowledge, and distributed enterprise support.

Strong communication, documentation, and multitasking skills are essential in our dynamic Palo Alto environment.
