The pay range is $92,000.00 - $166,000.00

As a Senior Manager of FP&A, Stores Finance – You will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy for Target’s Stores organization. You’ll become an expert in the full Stores P&L and serve as a key thought partner to cross-functional leaders, indirectly guiding a team of peers through Target’s recurring planning and forecasting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Core FP&A Routines: Drive the Actuals, Forecast, Annual Plan, and Long-Range Planning (LRP) processes for the Stores pyramid, ensuring accuracy, insight, and alignment with enterprise goals.
  • Represent the Stores organization in enterprise-level financial review forums, using strong storytelling and analytical skills to clearly communicate expense drivers and business performance.
  • Capital Planning Leadership: Oversee capital planning routines for Store Operations, including governance, approval processes, and financial forecasts. Strategically influence investment prioritization and deployment decisions.
  • Insight & Decision Support: Proactively identify financial risks and opportunities, equipping Store leaders with actionable insights to guide trade-offs and strategic decisions.
  • Trend Analysis: Analyze and interpret evolving business trends, using data-driven insights to enhance narratives and enable decision making.

You’ll help craft and deliver the Stores Expense story to senior leaders across Target — clearly, concisely, and with a focus on what matters most. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, combining strategic thinking with operational rigor to influence business outcomes and optimize financial performance.  A successful candidate will have excellent communication and presentation skills, be accountable and agile to ever-changing business dynamics, and be highly organized and process oriented to guide the broader team through recurring FP&A routines.

About you:

  • MBA or 4-year college degree with relevant experience
  • 6+ years finance experience and/or business experience
  • Outstanding communication and relationship building, uniting teams towards common goals and outcomes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to analyze data and effectively story tell
  • Highly organized, with a lens towards streamlining core routines and reporting
  • Ability to work with all levels of management with a high level of autonomy, motivation, and self-direction, tailoring messages as appropriate

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
