Role Overview

The Sr Manager, IT Engineering position at Gilead Sciences in Uxbridge, United Kingdom, is a strategic technical leadership role reporting to the Director of IT Systems Engineering. This individual contributor will spearhead the assessment, design, and implementation of critical IT and Audio Visual (AV) facilities build-out projects across EMEA sites, including Gilead and our Kite entity. This full-time role demands expertise in network topology, server/storage, AV integration, and facilities projects within a biopharmaceutical context.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership

Build effective, trusted strategic relationships with key Gilead business partners in Facilities and Engineering. Leverage strong communication skills, credibility, and IT expertise to deliver collaborative solutions for physical infrastructure services.

Strategic Planning

Partner across technology and business teams with savvy communication. Demonstrate deep understanding of network, server/storage, AV, and facilities projects to provide tailored solutions. Prepare compelling project materials, including business cases and assessments, for project teams and steering committees. Ensure all work aligns with Gilead's established practices, standards, policies, and processes.

Risk Mitigation Planning

Work with project management to identify issues and risks in network services deployment. As delivery lead, enforce architectural reviews, gate reviews, knowledge transitions, change controls, validation, commissioning, and qualification documentation per Gilead IT standards.

Business Continuity

Provide responsive leadership in coordinating and communicating IT infrastructure status to senior management. Align IT planning with business objectives and ensure robust monitoring and tracking mechanisms.

Qualifications & Requirements
