Key Responsibilities at Rivian

In this pivotal role, you'll spearhead battery test initiatives that power Rivian's EV revolution. Key duties include:

• Lead and manage a team of test engineers focused on battery test equipment, automation, and process projects from concept to production.
• Ensure project success measured by cost, safety, quality, performance, and delivery schedules.
• Drive compliance with standards, regulations, and codes for equipment and processes.
• Mentor engineers, developing career growth plans in a flourishing environment.
• Develop specifications, evaluate vendors, and recommend sourcing based on data analysis.
• Create strategies for timelines, including resource management and risk mitigation.
• Provide DFM feedback to Product Engineering for efficient, high-quality assembly.
• Solve complex problems using first principles and data-driven methods.
• Lead R&D for innovative manufacturing technologies tackling assembly challenges.
• Conduct feasibility studies to validate strategies and partner with cross-functional teams.

Build Rivian's knowledge base and standards to set the manufacturing engineering benchmark.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel as Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Engineering (Test/Battery), you need:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 10+ years experience in automated manufacturing engineering roles.
• Proven success in project managing equipment installations.
• Expertise in OEE, cycle time, DVA, Cp/Cpk, GR&R, ergonomics, DOE, quality control, ROI, error-proofing.
• First-principles problem-solving with action bias and assumption challenging.
• Technical leadership influencing cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication skills and proficiency in 2D/3D CAD and engineering tools.
• Experience in battery manufacturing, test specs, and prototype-to-production transitions.

Salary & Benefits

Rivian offers competitive compensation: $161,000-$201,200 USD for IL, GA, MI applicants; $176,200-$220,300 USD for CA. Factors include experience, skills, location. Additional perks:
