The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) position within Gilead's US Medical Affairs team is a field-based opportunity focused on HIV Treatment and Prevention. Based in northern Virginia or Richmond, VA, this role covers the territory including Virginia (Alexandria, Richmond, Norfolk, Roanoke, Charlottesville) and West Virginia. Reporting to the USMA South Central HIV Field Director, the Sr. MSL serves as a scientific expert, building professional relationships with key healthcare decision-makers in public health, academic institutions, and community providers. This role demands an experienced, results-oriented professional who can deliver impactful scientific support while adhering to PhRMA guidelines and FDA regulations.
As a Sr. MSL, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge science and clinical practice, ensuring healthcare providers have the latest insights on Gilead's HIV therapies. Your contributions will directly support Gilead's Medical Affairs Plan of Action, driving strategic initiatives that advance HIV treatment and prevention efforts nationwide.
In this dynamic role, you will engage in a variety of field-facing activities to support Gilead's objectives in HIV. Responsibilities include delivering timely, accurate clinical, scientific, and educational presentations to healthcare providers, both proactively and upon request. You will implement goals aligned with the Medical Affairs strategy, develop plans for cultivating relationships with thought leaders, and provide critical insights on treatment practices and trends to strategy and competitive intelligence teams.
Additional duties encompass participating in advisory boards, speaker training, and clinical conferences; collaborating across functions like Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Commercial teams; responding to clinical inquiries on marketed and developmental products; identifying and training opinion leaders; and recommending sites for Phase IV trials. Expect frequent travel to appointments, meetings, and conferences, with a focus on resolving field challenges collaboratively while maintaining compliance with all pharmaceutical codes and Gilead policies.
To succeed as a Sr. Medical Science Liaison at Gilead, candidates must possess a strong scientific background and field experience.
