The Sr. Pharmacy Technician position at Cardinal Health's LaVergne, TN Specialty Pharmacy is a pivotal leadership role within our Health System Pharmacy team. Operating on a Monday-Friday schedule from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, this full-time position involves coordinating daily pharmacy operations, supervising technicians, managing inventory, and supporting automation systems. Reporting to the Pharmacy Supervisor, you'll play a key role in ensuring seamless service delivery, regulatory compliance, and optimal patient care. As Sr. Pharmacy Technician, your expertise will drive operational excellence across multiple facets of pharmacy services.
Assist the Pharmacy Manager in directing Pharmacy Technicians, preparing time and attendance records, making staffing adjustments, and conducting performance evaluations and coaching. Direct orientation, training, and ongoing development for all staff, educating on policy changes to foster a high-performing team.
Maintain precise inventory control, oversee drug shortage management, expired inventory audits, and drug recalls. Conduct monthly documentation, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with Tennessee Board of Pharmacy (BOP) requirements, reporting issues and collaborating on resolutions.
Procure and distribute medication orders accurately for physicians, pharmacists, and prearranged assignments. Fill orders, surgical kits, carts, stock requisitions, and automated dispensing refills while managing purchasing budgets aligned with GPO bids and forecasting patient demands.
Coordinate pharmacy automation systems to boost efficiency and accuracy. Prepare intravenous admixtures and sterile preparations using aseptic techniques, garbing procedures, and work practices. Address complex automation issues, verify orders, and troubleshoot with patient care facilities.
