The Sr. Route Salesman position in Jeddah is a pivotal sales team role focused on maximizing sales volume, achieving distribution targets, minimizing stales, implementing merchandising standards, collecting receivables, and delivering exceptional customer service. This hands-on position involves daily route management, customer interactions, and market intelligence gathering to drive PepsiCo's market leadership in Saudi Arabia. Success is measured by daily/weekly sales vs. targets, positive calls vs. plan, call sequence adherence, stales below targets, and zero cash/stock shortages. Consistent underperformance may lead to disciplinary action, ensuring top-tier performance.
As Sr. Route Salesman, your core duties include selling the full PepsiCo product range to an agreed customer list, hitting sales targets while keeping stales low. You'll follow supervisor-approved service levels, including call frequency and daily route plans, reviewed in debriefings. Daily vehicle checks, cleanliness, and reporting defects are essential. Agree on order requirements, maintain optimal stock levels to avoid out-of-stocks, and implement merchandising standards, coordinating with merchandisers as needed. Report competitor activities daily, reconcile cash/cheques/credits with zero shortages, maintain professional grooming and safe driving, and provide market insights for sales opportunities.
Candidates need strong customer service skills, excellent verbal and written communication in English and Arabic, good interpersonal abilities, and analytical skills. Experience in sales, preferably in food & beverage, is ideal. A valid driver's license and ability to handle route sales vehicles are required.
