Role Overview

Join Rivian's cutting-edge Autonomy Data, Tools and ML Infra Team as a Senior Software/Data Engineer in the United Kingdom. Key Responsibilities at Rivian

As a Sr. Software/Data Engineer, Autonomy, you'll deliver tangible impact through these core responsibilities:

  • Build reliable Python packages and Docker images as reusable tooling components across the Autonomy team
  • Develop standardized Gitlab CI and Databricks pipelines for metrics storage and team-wide consistency
  • Deep-dive into performance metrics calculation, ensuring leading/lagging metrics use consistent methodology
  • Implement automated testing frameworks for metric validation and reliability
  • Propose and implement new metrics to identify and close gaps in our evaluation processes
  • Enhance developer tooling including Cursor integration and MCP servers for maximum velocity
  • Serve as technical liaison between UK, California, and Serbia Autonomy teams
  • Manage multiple high-priority projects while maintaining on-call support for critical systems
  • Drive platform adoption through requirements gathering and stakeholder collaboration

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 5+ years professional software engineering with significant data engineering focus
  • Expert Python development for backend services, data processing, cloud tooling
  • Production-grade data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark/Scala, SQL

  • AWS expertise (S3, EC2, Lambda) and cloud-native architecture

Salary & Benefits
