Role Overview

This Sr. Software Engineer II, MacOS Sensor - CTIO (Hybrid) role is at the heart of CrowdStrike's cutting-edge innovation. Part of the CTIO team, you'll deliver the lightweight agent sensor for macOS platforms within the Falcon Host product. The sensor—a driver on client machines—observs system activity, detects malicious behavior, provides on-box prevention, and sends telemetry to the Falcon cloud. Processing thousands of events per second, it offers deep endpoint visibility, rich correlation, and blocks threats. The cloud aggregates data, correlates threats network-wide, and prioritizes alerts for customers. Owning design and development of core features across file systems, memory, processes, and networking, you'll build shared components for Linux and Windows too. Operating under Agile principles, the team ships frequently, driving CrowdStrike's technology vision to lead in cybersecurity.

Hybrid Work Model

Based near Sunnyvale, CA (Bay Area), Redmond, WA (Seattle area), or Austin, TX offices, this hybrid role expects about two days per week in-office for collaboration, blending remote-first flexibility with team synergy.

Key Responsibilities

In this senior role, you'll drive impactful contributions to the Falcon platform:

• Collaborate with sensor development teams company-wide on architecture and strategic initiatives.
• Conceptualize and develop innovative product features for the macOS sensor.
• Provide guidance to teams for designing and implementing cross-platform software (Windows, macOS, Linux).
• Take full ownership of features from initial design through delivery, culminating in sprint product demonstrations.
• Engage in cross-functional collaboration with geographically distributed teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel, bring these essential skills:

• Deep knowledge of Swift and C/C++.
• Extensive, fundamental understanding of macOS internals, emphasizing security frameworks.
• Proven experience debugging memory corruption issues, process contentions, and system performance bottlenecks.
• Demonstrated success collaborating on major features and releases.
• Strong ability to lead, mentor, communicate, collaborate, and thrive in distributed teams.
