Key Responsibilities at Rivian

As a Sr. Software Systems Engineer, Autonomy, you'll play a pivotal role in Rivian's autonomy development. Here are your core responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, deploy, and debug KPIs and metrics to evaluate Automated Parking and Active Safety features on Rivian's Autonomy Stack
  • Develop measurements based on operational design domain, functional, performance, and safety requirements
  • Devise scalable methodologies for measuring and analyzing large datasets in simulation that predict on-road performance
  • Develop optimized signatures that identify and trigger events of interest using Rivian's autonomy logging pipeline
  • Collaborate with Autonomy development teams including pose, perception, planning, motion control for end-to-end metric design
  • Work closely with the Simulation Infrastructure team for development, integration, and testing of metrics
  • Partner with Data Analytics and Cloud teams to visualize metrics and insights in dashboards
  • Design, develop, deploy, and debug SiL and HiL tests to exercise Automated Parking and Active Safety features
  • Stay current with industry and Rivian best practices, creating documentation for team consumption

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Robotics, or related field

  • Excellent data analysis and programming skills in Python and SQL
  • Ability to understand and navigate C/C++ code (preferred)
  • Experience with time-series analysis and large-scale datasets

  • Understanding of L0/L1/L2/L3/L4 automation levels and vehicle systems
