Join a Fortune 500 company committed to transforming healthcare through technology, expertise, and unwavering customer focus.

Role Overview

As a Sr. Specialist, Account Management (PSAO Support), you become the trusted primary point of contact for over 6,000 retail independent pharmacies, VIP buying groups like Topco, and major health systems. This high-impact, full-time role operates nationwide from a field-based location, handling 15-40 daily interactions via phone, email, inquiry forms, and live chat. You'll resolve complex issues in pharmacy reimbursement, PBM contracting, credentialing, and PSAO onboarding while fostering strong relationships with customers and sales teams. Working Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM EST, in a dynamic high-volume environment, you'll leverage your expertise to ensure seamless pharmacy operations and exceptional customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day impact includes:

  • Possessing Tier 1 knowledge of PSAO platforms (LeaderNET, MSInterNet, MCC) to route inquiries efficiently.
  • Managing 10-20 customer cases at a time, addressing product, solutions, and PSAO-related questions for buying groups and health systems.
  • Answering 15-40 incoming calls daily from pharmacy staff and sales teams, using de-escalation techniques for escalated issues.
  • Conducting customer outreach via email and phone, acting as a liaison between customers and PSAOs.
  • Leading new customer orientation calls, participating in daily team huddles, and representing managed care in meetings with pharmacy chains.
  • Identifying and tracking customer pain points to implement processes that enhance overall experience.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues independently and maintaining required phone coverage in a virtual team setting.

Why This Role Matters

In the evolving healthcare landscape, your ability to navigate grey areas with critical thinking and adapt to new concepts directly supports Cardinal Health's mission to optimize pharmacy back-office functions and drive customer satisfaction.

  • Managed care, reimbursement, PBM knowledge, and pharmacy experience (highly preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and prior computer systems experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive work ethic.
  • Confidence in de-escalation, problem-solving, and virtual collaboration.

Prior exposure to in-store pharmacy operations, credentialing, and claim adjudication is a plus, equipping you to handle Tier 1 inquiries with precision.

Benefits & Perks

Cardinal Health offers competitive compensation from $57,000 to $81,600 USD per year, with opportunities for growth. Enjoy a predictable Monday-Friday schedule, field-based flexibility across the US, and comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and professional development.
