Role Overview

The Sr. Specialist, Store Trainer Central NA role in Detroit, Michigan, is a pivotal position within Nike’s retail operations. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Stores Training, you’ll serve as a key business partner to NA retail store districts. This role focuses on delivering training excellence, elevating store performance, and enabling teams to create uniquely Nike consumer experiences. Expect weekly travel to 1-3 store districts, ensuring each store receives at least one visit per fiscal quarter. As a distributed team member covering North America, including Canada and Puerto Rico, you’ll collaborate virtually across time zones while fostering inclusive training environments grounded in Nike’s Sport Offense strategy.

Key Responsibilities

In this results-driven role, you’ll support Nike’s retail strategies by creating training awareness, accountability, and action that shapes consumer experiences. Key duties include:

• Delivering training expertise for 1-3 districts, supporting 15-20 stores on average with quarterly visits.
• Building collaborative partnerships with Territory and District Partners, especially Retail District Directors, through transparent communication.
• Guiding training recognition, accountability, and coaching for recommended stores.
• Fostering relationships with Retail Brand Marketing and cross-functional partners to integrate brand activations and sports moments.
• Serving as a mentor, educator, and change agent to empower store teams with skills for sales, service, and embodying the Nike mission.

Travel and Collaboration

Travel is core to the role: 15-20% for team offsites, conferences, and activations; up to 30-50% in some markets for store visits via airplane, car, or train, including overnights and weekends. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities with strategic thinking.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years in retail training, learning & development, or store leadership; athletic/lifestyle brand experience a plus.
• Strong facilitation for group training and one-on-one coaching in retail settings.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Organizational prowess for managing districts, priorities, and digital tools like LMS.
• Passion for sports, fitness, and Nike; flexible attitude with regular travel willingness.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license; fluency in English (additional languages beneficial).
