This pivotal role within Rivian's Quality & Reliability department drives technology and strategy for Standard Components and Materials Engineering. You'll partner with cross-functional teams in Product Development, Manufacturing & Process Engineering, Procurement & Supply Chain, and Supplier Quality to support production schedules, boost efficiency, enhance assembly quality, and advance R&D for cutting-edge components. Key Responsibilities at Rivian

As a Sr. Technical Program Manager - Materials & Joining, you'll lead high-impact initiatives throughout the product lifecycle. Here's what you'll do:

  • Lead TPM efforts for joints (welds, adhesives, mechanical fasteners), raw materials, and finished goods supporting all Rivian programs.
  • Bridge technical and business teams, providing updates to FAME leadership on status, risks, and mitigations.
  • Manage engineering critical paths, aligning timelines for deliverables and derisking fastener/material development.
  • Drive risk management by identifying threats, creating mitigation plans, and escalating with vehicle-level teams.
  • Handle issue management, resolving emergent problems and burning down issues before complex phases.
  • Oversee scope management, decomposing program goals into technical roadmaps.
  • Execute change management, ensuring high-quality implementation of approved changes.
  • Track targets for BOM cost, mass, unique part count, and commonization, resolving roadblocks.
  • Support engineering projects on budget/schedule, including line-down emergencies and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain on re-sourcing, pilot builds, and BOM accuracy for new part releases.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Expertise in materials engineering, joining technologies (welds, adhesives, fasteners), and supply chain coordination.
