Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Spearhead AI initiatives within Notebooks, owning technical design, development, and deployment of ML/AI-driven observability features
• Shape strategic direction for AI workflows spanning Notebooks and interconnected Datadog products
• Champion full development cycle: rapid prototyping, success metrics definition, experimentation, iteration, and production reliability
• Drive user-centric product direction, relentlessly advocating for optimal end-user experiences in cloud monitoring
• Coordinate cross-team integration enabling other product teams to leverage Notebooks in AI-powered workflows
• Develop robust agent systems including tools, retrieval strategies, planning, guardrails, prompt management, fallbacks, and human-in-the-loop processes
• Lead technical mentoring while delivering high-impact AI features for Datadog's observability platform
• Stay ahead of AI trends, guiding adoption of emerging technologies and evolving ML engineering best practices
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to ship production-ready AI capabilities

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed as Staff AI Engineer at Datadog, you'll bring:

• Advanced degree (BS/MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Mathematics, or scientific field – or equivalent hands-on experience
• 10+ years engineering experience including technical leadership of complex AI/ML projects
• Proven track record leading large-scale AI/ML initiatives from research to production in product-driven environments
