Join Rivian's Enterprise Cybersecurity team as a Staff Cybersecurity Application Security Engineer in Atlanta, Georgia. Key Responsibilities at Rivian

  • Review source code and application architectures to identify and communicate security vulnerabilities to development teams effectively.
  • Support the implementation of security configurations and countermeasures based on emerging threats and industry trends.
  • Triage and manage external submissions from Rivian’s Bug Bounty program to ensure rapid response.
  • Develop and support automated security tooling and agentic security workflows within CI/CD pipelines for streamlined vulnerability triage and threat modeling.
  • Work closely with Rivian’s penetration testing team to identify and implement remediations for security vulnerabilities.
  • Guide software development teams to write secure code and effectively remediate vulnerabilities as part of the SSDLC.
  • Foster a culture of secure-by-design development across Rivian's engineering organization.
  • Monitor and respond to application security risks in AWS and Kubernetes-hosted environments.
  • Stay ahead of AI-specific vulnerabilities and cloud-native threats (preferred experience).

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed as a Staff Cybersecurity Application Security Engineer at Rivian, you need:

  • 8+ years of application security experience, with hands-on expertise in reviewing and remediating common SAST vulnerabilities.
  • Proficiency with key technologies: GraphQL, AWS, React, Java, Node.js, Python, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Strong coding/scripting skills in Python or Go for building security utilities and automation tools.
  • Passion for Cybersecurity, demonstrated by staying current with industry best practices, tools, and emerging threats.
