Key Responsibilities at Rivian

• Lead sensor development of absolute magnetic position sensors and inductive relative position sensors in actuators for Rivian's EVs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Electrical Engineering on sensor selection, inductive coil design, target selection, and magnet selection.
• Characterize sensor performance across temperature, deflection, tolerance stack-ups, current, voltage, and environmental factors.
• Develop detailed CAD drawings and manufacturing instructions for targets, magnets, plastic gears, and other sensor parts using CATIA/3DExperience.
• Release CAD and drawings, complete tolerance stack-ups, and perform first-principles mechanical/electrical calculations.
• Write FEA and electromagnetic analysis requests to validate structural integrity and performance.
• Execute ADVP&R and DFMEAs to ensure design reliability and mitigate failure modes.
• Coordinate with suppliers for validation, quality assurance, and scalable manufacturing.
• Advance designs through prototyping to mass production, including hands-on assembly and testing.
