Key Responsibilities at Datadog

• Own the end-to-end design of AI Observability tools, from initial concept sketches to production deployment.
• Partner with product managers, engineers, and data scientists to deeply understand customer pain points in AI development workflows.
• Prototype interactive experiences using Figma, Framer, and Protopie to bring AI debugging tools to life.
• Conduct user research and apply design best practices to enhance AI experiences across desktop, mobile, and Slack integrations.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive Figma UI Toolkit for conversational AI interfaces used company-wide.
• Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure pixel-perfect implementation and rigorous QA before shipping.
• Communicate design rationale through compelling presentations to product teams and leadership.
• Explore novel UX patterns for AI agent monitoring, prompt optimization, and performance experimentation.
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops to identify opportunities in LLM observability and incident response.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed as our Staff Product Designer - AI Observability, you'll need:

• 10+ years of digital product design experience, with proven end-to-end project ownership.
• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating top-tier visual design, sophisticated interactions, and seamless workflows.
• Mastery of modern design tools (Figma expert required, Framer/Protopie preferred).
• Deep passion for AI technologies and their impact on human-computer interaction.
• Strong storytelling and facilitation skills to drive cross-team alignment.
