About the Group Internal Audit Investigations (GIAI)Team
Group Internal Audit Investigations (GIAI) is an independent function that plays a vital role in supporting the Standard Chartered Board and Executive Management within Global Functions. With a clear purpose to safeguard the Group’s assets, reputation, and long-term sustainability, GIAI operates as the Bank’s third line of defence.
It provides independent assurance over the effectiveness of controls implemented by business management - the first line - and the risk frameworks and policies maintained by control owners - the second line. Through rigorous audit practices and a commitment to integrity, GIAI helps ensure that governance, risk management, and internal controls are not only in place but functioning effectively across the organisation.

The programme will support your skills development:
• 10-week summer internship
• A structured induction and orientation
• Classroom learning on our products, platforms and business
• On-the-job training and technical seminars
• Support from managers, mentors and buddies
• Networking events with senior leaders
• Opportunities to contribute to community initiatives
What you’ll experience
As an intern, you’ll play a meaningful role in supporting our audit function:
• Supporting audit activities: Assist with data collection, documentation, and the application of audit methodologies to ensure robust and compliant processes.
• Delivering high-quality work: Produce accurate outputs within set deadlines, while exploring innovative tools and techniques to enhance audit efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborating and contributing: Share insights, participate in team initiatives, and help foster a collaborative environment through open communication and knowledge sharing.
