Standard Chartered
This role is accountable for delivering daily operations activities and service standards, including Ops Risks, Capacity Management within Wealth Operations department. Identifying opportunities to streamline, standardize operation processes and as well as automate or simplify manual processes. Coordinate with Head of Department to resolve Ops related issues and exceptions around the operating model, systems, and processes.
Strategy & Business
• Executes and implements fit for country plans which are aligned with Group strategy.
• Awareness and understanding of the firm’s business strategy and model appropriate to the role.
• Engage high level of discussion with internal & external stakeholders to understand the needs to carry out strategy.
• Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the firm operates.
Processes
• Handling of US Person, US securities related process such as W8BEN Forms, 1042S, WHT and US Tax Declarations.
• Daily operations including confirmation & settlement for various securities types.
• Periodic reporting including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports to various stakeholders.
• To support in the following aspects: day to day operations, exceptions handling, system issues escalation and follow up, reconciliation, UAT testing, BCP, capacity planning, process improvement.
• Participates in stakeholders meetings, review/attain/benchmark service standards & maintain cross border relationships.
• Maintains service level agreement metrics on turnaround and accuracy.
• Effective stakeholder engagement to understand and fulfil the needs of internal and external clients.
• Maintain & improve service level & customer expectation.
• Uses metrics to derive decision around service delivery improvements.
People & Talent
• Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from team and work in collaboration with stakeholders and business partners.
• Employ, engage and retain high quality people.
• Builds a people and unit road map that ensures an effective team – utilising all the people tools to continuously raise employee engagement.

Risk Management
• the ability to identify, assess, monitor, control and mitigate risks to the firm. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the firm and the role the individual plays in managing them.
• the ability to interpret the firm’s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
• Act as the first line of defence as defined in the Ops Risk Framework.
Governance
• the ability to assess the effectiveness of the firm’s arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas.
• awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.
• ability to deliver ‘effective governance’; capability to challenge fellow executives effectively; and willingness to work with any local regulators in an open and cooperative manner.
• to ensure compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements. This includes compliance with local banking laws, other applicable laws (e.g. laws governing securities activities, company law) and anti-money laundering regulations and guidelines.

• Business correspondence skills with excellent proficiency of English – written and spoken.
• Proficient in Excel (pivots, lookups and basic VBA an advantage).
• Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders and also external parties at all levels.
• Experience in Wealth Related Product/Process or security is added advantage.
