Job Description

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About Procurement

Procurement is part of Stripe Finance and owns the full supplier lifecycle and buying journey. The team sources and evaluates new vendors, renews and negotiates engagements with existing suppliers, and leads third‑party risk management and compliance activities to ensure suppliers meet Stripe’s standards. Procurement also drafts, reviews, and approves supplier contract structures and terms, aligned with Stripe’s risk appetite and legal requirements.

We’re looking for a dynamic Manager to join our global Procurement team and help us drive highly efficient processes, innovative solutions, and operational excellence in support of Stripe’s supplier ecosystem.

What you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced Procurement professional to focus on establishing trusted business partner relationships across Stripe with a “users first” approach to ensure early and active participation across the full lifecycle of strategic sourcing, third party risk management, and compliant supplier contracting, including: supporting the category plans of the Sourcing leads, sourcing strategies, RFx execution, supplier evaluation, selection and oversee the ongoing operations of the third party risk management, contract negotiations and contract lifecycle management, and continuous improvements. You will play a critical role in ensuring Stripe's procurement efforts align with our operational principles by contributing to our sustainable growth while fostering strong, ethical supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with Procurement leadership to define and execute the strategic vision of the Global Procurement Center, aligning it with the overall organizational goals.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of subject matter experts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development consistent with Stripe Operating and Leadership principles.
  • Operational Excellence: Partner with Procurement and Finance teams to develop, implement or improve processes and share best practices throughout the organization.  Regularly report on process performance with key stakeholders and provide/gather service feedback.
  • Innovation: Drive innovation by identifying emerging trends and technologies, and lead efforts to pilot, adopt, and integrate innovative solutions into the organization.
  • Collaboration: Facilitate cross-functional collaboration within the team and with other departments, breaking down silos and promoting a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
  • Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance metrics to measure the impact and effectiveness of the team's initiatives and activities, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish quality control and assurance standards to maintain high-quality output from the team, maintaining a strong focus on excellence and compliance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to promote the team's mission and secure buy-in from key decision-makers.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

  • Proven negotiation skills and a track record of achieving significant cost savings and supplier value without compromising on quality or service

  • Experience in supplier contracting with a solid understanding of standard commercial terms and conditions to mitigate risks and create clear service level agreements
  • Leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to elevate ambitions and influence cross-functional and internal team members
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to represent Stripe effectively by interfacing with and influencing experienced business leaders
