The Summer Warehouse Technician position at PepsiCo's Brampton, Ontario food manufacturing facility offers post-secondary students a hands-on, value-added experience in plant operations. This full-time summer role, running from May through September, pays $19 per hour and requires availability for various shifts, including days (7am-11pm), overnights (11pm-7am), weekends, and up to Labour Day weekend. Order picking is a core task, utilizing cutting-edge voice-directed technology or handheld scanners for full-case picking, as well as pre-pick modules for individual items or bags. Loading route trucks with products via roller carts or manual handling ensures timely deliveries. Additionally, you'll maintain facility cleanliness through general housekeeping and sanitation, adhere to safe work practices like proper lifting techniques, and participate in team meetings to drive continuous improvement.
Expect a fast-paced environment where physical demands such as standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, climbing, reaching, grasping, and stair climbing are routine. Lifting up to 50lbs is required, emphasizing the need for strong physical capability and safety awareness.
To succeed as a Summer Warehouse Technician, candidates must have completed a high school diploma or GED equivalent and be currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program in Canada. Availability for full-time work through Labour Day is essential, along with flexibility for all shifts. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are non-negotiable, as is prior experience in manufacturing or warehouse settings, though not mandatory.
