Role Overview

The Supervisor Production role at PepsiCo's Epping Bakery in Western Cape, South Africa, is pivotal for ensuring seamless bakery operations. Reporting to production management, you will oversee two shifts, coordinating teams to meet production plans while upholding world-class quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities

As Supervisor Production, your core duties include supervising all production activities to align with the daily plan, scheduling work assignments, and directing subordinate teams. You will foster an innovative environment to achieve KPIs in quality, productivity, and efficiency, proposing and leading improvement projects. Handle operational challenges in production sections, evaluate employee performance through work reviews, and set annual business and people objectives, conducting formal evaluations twice yearly.

Identify training needs, ensure labor relations compliance, and maintain records and reports. Champion quality by cooperating with the Quality & Environment Department, enforcing HACCP, food safety, and personnel safety procedures through training and communication. Oversee maintenance programs, prioritize repairs, and collaborate with the maintenance manager. Ensure adequate staffing with trained backups, participate in new product development, and engage in daily shift meetings for system reviews including Quality, Food Safety, Maintenance, and Health & Safety. Complete SAP backflush data reports accurately.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel, candidates need a Grade 12 / Matric / Senior Certificate as a minimum, with a tertiary qualification in Process and Production Technology preferred. Require 3-5 years of experience in production environments, focusing on process technology, production planning, or coordination, plus proven people management skills. Teamwork is essential, alongside shift rotation flexibility, including weekends and holidays. Demonstrate resilience under pressure, change management prowess, and PC proficiency in Word, Excel, and SAP.

Additional skills include certification in all job aspects, facilitating training sessions, differentiating performance levels, influencing others, and understanding KPI scorecards. Strong instruction, facilitation, coaching, and evaluation abilities are key for developing teams in a high-volume bakery operation.
