- Ability to operate a tractor-trailer safely and efficiently (experience)
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards (experience)
- Ability to use electronic logging devices (ELDs) (experience)
- Excellent driving skills and a commitment to safety (experience)
- Ability to navigate and read maps effectively (experience)
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer
- Manually unload and deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods, supplies, etc.) to customer locations
- Follow an assigned route schedule
- Build relationships with customers using a positive, friendly attitude
- Become familiar with customer operations to meet needs and expectations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle
- Ensure proper handling and storage of products during delivery
- Operate hand trucks and other equipment to unload products
- Collect payments from customers, if required
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel
