Responsibilities

  • Deliver products to Sysco customers according to assigned route schedules.
  • Inform management of any deviations from the route schedule.
  • Unload products from the trailer, either by hand or using a hand cart, and place them in designated customer storage areas.
  • Frequently lift, push, or move products weighing up to 45 kgs, and reach up to 2 meters to stack and unstack pallets.
  • Operate the Sysco Transportation System (STS) delivery system to scan items and generate invoices.
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and obtain proper signatures.
  • Contact management for authorization regarding invoice discrepancies and communicate any errors or returns.
  • Collect payments (checks) where required and deposit all funds daily.
  • Pick up, load, and unload damaged goods and customer returns, completing necessary paperwork.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in accordance with Ministry of Transportation (MOT) regulations and Sysco policies.
  • Complete MOT logs (electronic or manual as required), company vehicle maintenance reports, and reconcile them with the appropriate company representative.
  • Follow Sysco work methods at all times and immediately advise supervisors of any unsafe conditions.
  • Adhere to all food safety standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain sanitary conditions in the tractor and trailer, and assist with maintaining sanitary conditions in the warehouse and yard.
  • Maintain and safely operate all assigned equipment, including hand carts, pallets, load bars, STS units, and personal protective equipment.
  • Attend all required company meetings.
  • Perform coupling procedures for the tractor/trailer as needed.
  • Manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of products.
