  • Direct the maintenance of SYGMA's fleet of over-the-road vehicles, including tractors, refrigerated trailers, and trucks in Danville, Indy, Channahon, and Belleville.
  • Provide solid-line leadership responsibility for the Fleet Manager and Facility Manager at the operating company.
  • Ensure that the company’s physical assets are maintained at a high degree of readiness to support operations.
  • Implement rigorous corporate-wide policies and procedures related to planned and unplanned maintenance.
  • Recruit, develop, motivate, and retain top-talent individuals to staff the maintenance organization.
  • Participate in the development of relevant job descriptions for hourly maintenance roles.
  • Ensure that job descriptions, training programs, and compensation levels support a logical career path for maintenance associates.
  • Promote a culture of professionalism at all levels within the maintenance team.
  • Implement programs and processes to reduce waste and increase the return on invested capital related to maintenance.
  • Develop and manage multiple vendor relationships to ensure Sysco’s maintenance program goals are met consistently.
  • Encourage wide exposure and aggressive competition for Sysco’s business.
  • Implement and roll out the new computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for facility and fleet within the assigned region.
  • Play a leadership role in the capital planning process, including the multi-year capital plan.
  • Manage maintenance budget and control maintenance costs effectively.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess maintenance effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of maintenance activities with overall business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards related to fleet and facility maintenance.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities and equipment to identify potential maintenance needs.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize asset lifespan.
  • Oversee the procurement of maintenance parts and supplies.
  • Manage and coordinate maintenance projects, including renovations and upgrades.
